Hesitant about which laptop out of these I should buy

Hi,

Please guys need your help about which one of these laptops is stronger/more suitable for video editing programs like after effect, 3D max or sony vegas.

The first one is:

acer aspire 4750g: Intel® Core™ i5-2410M, RAM 4G 13333, Nvidia GeForce GT540M, LED HD 14,

The second one is : Acer Aspire (17.3" LED + Intel(R) HD Graphics 2.26 GHz Core i3 + 8 GB DDR3)

I5 2400 should do video editing faster than I3 processor for multi-core enabled applications like vegas. you'll want to make sure that you have a 64-bit version of windows whatever laptop you choose if you want to run adobe after effect.

Is this the sort of information you wanted ?

I'm assuming the core i3 is the older generation? They don't use the newer integrated graphic [intel hd 3000] so I would go witht he i5-2410m with nVIDIA GT 540m. nVIDIA has a history of strong driver support and you will get more out of the i5-2410m. You pretty much want all the power you can get. You will benefit from more RAM but you can always upgrade the RAM yourself. Go with the first one!

Yeah that is what I wanted to know. In addition I want also to know if both of these laptops are slightly used and available for the same price(~600$) which one should I go to?

Thanks alot for your reply. That makes much sense. I was only considering the I3 laptop because of the screen size and as both of them have comparable price I thought If the I3 is adequate for the video editing job then I would go with it. However, I am now convinced the I5 laptop is the one I should buy.

1st one, it has a better processor and graphics.
