Memory upgrade

hi
i have a dell inspiron 530s 32 bit 3.00GB i want to up grade to 4gb
i have 4 slots in each slot there's a 512 and a1gb and the same with the
other two what do i do buy two 1gb and take the two 512 out .....?.help

The first thing you should be aware of here is that 32bit systems will not recognize more than 3GB of system ram which you already have. The 4GB limit you may be thinking of includes graphics cards and the like - you could add a 1GB graphics card and still be okay (theoretically) but adding ram modules will accomplish nothing since anything over 3GB will neither be recognized nor used by the system.
