Z77 Raid + SATA

Hello,
I've just installed a gigabyte z77 mobo and I'm wanting to run 1 drive on a single SATA and another paired drives in Raid. I can't seem to figure out how to do both though. Putting it in Raid stops the SATA drive working (OS).

Any ideas?

Thanks

  1. Okay FYI - I requested those other duplicates to be deleted.

Q - I assume if you set the Intel SATA -> RAID you get a BSOD?
    Q - What EXACT Gigabyte Z77 MOBO; i.e. model?

If that's the case then you're not going to like the solution. Please clarify.
  2. Yeah I had a slight problem with the question registering twice..........

A1- Yes, I set the Bios option from SATA to raid and windows will no longer boot from that Single SATA drive (on my old gigabyte 990xa i could have both SATA and RAID)
    A2- its a Gigabyte Z77-D3H

I'm assuming you're meaning it can't be done? it's either Raid or SATA and not both? problem i have is i have files on the 2 RAID drives that i need to recover.
  3. I mean you'll need to backup your data and start from scratch.

Note the following from your D/L page - http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4140#dl
    "Intel SATA Preinstall driver
    (For AHCI / RAID Mode)
Note: Press F6 during Windows setup to read from floppy."

Rather than me reinventing the wheel, substitute "Intel RSTE drivers" with your "Intel SATA Preinstall driver" and follow this guide -> http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/303873-30-wont-resume-sleep-booted-raid#t2068879
