There's such a thing as 4 cores and 8 threads, due to hyperthreading. I've never seen the term "dual quad core" though. I'm guessing it relates to a setup with 2 processors, both being quad cores.
Yes sort of. The only board I know of to support this is the Intel Skulltrail and I'm pretty sure they've been discontinued. So unless you can find an old skull trail you can't really do it
I'm sure there are some work station boards out there that support two CPUs. Its more or less a waste however. A single home user would be hard pressed to max out a 2500 or 2600. Webhosting would never need that kind of power. (amazon or other such place not included.)
If they made a lga2011 version of this board I would seriously consider it for when ivy-E comes out. Though I suppose that would be dual hexa core or dual octa core
My desktop machine is dual quad core - 2 x Opteron 8389, I do a lot of virtual machine stuff so more cores are very useful. It's based on a XW9400 motherboard.
I also have a DL585 G5, which is quad quad core - 4 x Opteron 8356.

That looks cool but I can't see any real use for it unless your doing alot of CPU intensive work or running a server.
