Is my system a decent one?

Okay, so I am buying a PC from my friend, it's a Sony Vaio VGC-RB30. I will be adding some better hardware too it, but I want to know if anything is incompatible or if it will not work well.

Original Specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (3.0GHz)
Motherboard: Intel 915g
Ram: 512mb DDR
GPU: Intel GMA 900
Hard Drive: 200GB 7200rpm
PSU: 305-watt standard
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit

New Specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 (3.0GHz)
Motherboard: Intel 915g
Ram: 1GB DDR
GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5670 1GB
Hard Drive: 200GB 7200rpm
PSU: Cool Master 500-Watt
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit

Please tell me if this would work out! I plan on getting a new motherboard and processor once I save up some more money. I need to know soon!

HD 5670 1GB power consumption is around 70 watts.

Given a 305-watt Sony OEM PSU, you should be fine running that card without a power supply replacement.

When you get the new processor and MB you'll be getting new memory also.
