Too many sent packets compared to received

Hello,
I have been having trouble with my laptop connecting to the internet. I seems to connect and other times it will time out. i've noticed that my received packets is near the 100,000,000 while my sent is only about 8,000,000. I was wondering if i have a port blocking senting traffic. I run 64-bit windows7 OS and i have norton 2011 as my antivirus. Plus i have done restore and i've noticed that when i have this issue my norton can't update the definitions. Help me please!

that is a bit off. sent an received should be fairly symmetrical.

Reduce to sent packets,and download a anti virus software to test your pc.

Hmmm ok well it seems i've fixed it, im not sure how but i turned some automatic processes off that weren't needed for the system and now its running just fine. Thankyou for the help.
