Liquid cooling idles at 40c

Hi guys. I just installed an antec kuhler 620. I'm using CM thermal grease and 2 fans instead of the single stock one that was included (both are pushing hot air out of the case). Everyone else is getting 25-30c idle, but i'm getting 38-40c idle temps, something is wrong right?

Load temps are 74c, which is also high for no overclocking.

Thanks in advance.

That's true, however i've re-installed it 3 times (each time cleaning and reapplying CM thermal grease). I've tried every option i can to get it to work properly but no dice!

How are the fans set up...are you pulling air in from outside the case or from inside it? If from the inside, how's your case cable routing and airflow? If it's a cluttered case with cables not tidied away, you're probably not getting cool air across the radiator.

If you're sure you've installed it correctly, your case layout isn't an issue and it's still giving high temps then I'd RMA it.

fans are all set to max. i just removed the antec kuhler and put in my $23 CM hyper tx3 and load temps are at 86c, that also seems very high, i'm not even overclocked! is something wrong here?

all bios settings are default on an asrock z68 extreme 3 gen3. my old rig (i5 750) only hit 65 when using the hyper tx3, i can't work out why my 2600k is so much hotter!
