Hello,

My 8800GT just went out. I was looking to replace the graphics card with the ATI 5570. Now I have a 425 watt power system and my cpu is the Q6600. Would this work or do I need a bigger power supply?

It might, can you give us the name and brand of the power supply?

It is just the standard Dell branded power supply. I was actually looking for something under $100 and was looking at these 2:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Galaxy+-+210+Series+NVIDIA+...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/XFX+-+ATI+Radeon+HD+5570+1G...

I know I said 5770 but I meant 5570. Just need something that can play games decent since I am looking to build a new computer later this year. Are these options good? I know I may be able to save some money ordering online but I need to replace this asap as this is my only computer atm.

The HD 5570 is less powerful than your old card, go for the HD 6570, 5670 or 6670 (I put them in order of increasing computing power, with the 6570 just about equal to the 8800 gt), any one of them will work with your power supply.

Ok I found a 5670 for pretty cheap near me:

So this would be about equal/little improvement to my 8800gt?

It's slightly better, but you can get it for much cheaper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and even the HD 6670 is cheaper than that ridiculous price at bestbuy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Awesome, thanks for the help, I ended buying the 6670 at frys for $99. Works excellent and so far runs a bit smoother then my 8800GT. Thanks for the help :)
