Password Recovery

I was wondering if there some kind of software that you guys can recomend that is best for changing a password. A friend of mine hadn't messed with his laptop for like 6 months and decieded to pick it up and begin using it but he forgot his password. We do not want to reformat it, and we want to be able to access everything thats on the laptop. I know of Orphcrack but I can't seem to get the live CD to find the password because its Windows 7 Ultimate. So is there any other free programs out there that might be able to help me?
