CPU > GPU?

For Digital Art... do programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketchbook Pro/Designer use the Cpu more than the GPU? I dont remember where but i think i read that the CPU is used more and that you dont need a very strong graphics card

It depends on what program you use, currently most adobe programs use gpu acceleration with nvidia cards.

well, my plan is to get a i7 3930 and a gtx 580/680 i can get one now, and one later, i plan on getting them both eventually, but i dont know which to get first, processor / mobo or graphics and psu

considering how the quad core i3-i7 sandy bridge CPUs have been out and they JUST released lga 2011 6 core sandybridge i dont think that ivy bridge 6 cores are coming out ANY time soon, im also getting a GREAT job by this summer 100% chance at getting it so after that point upgrades come for me as they come from the manufacturers, unless ivy bridge 6 cores are actually coming out in just a few months then its back to the original question
