I bought most of the core components used from a friend, he used it for about a month then he decided he didn't like it and bought parts for a new build. My ultimate goal is to play Battlefield 3 on a single 23" 1920x1080 monitor on the highest possible graphics settings.

This is what he sold me and quoted me these prices:
CoolerMaster HAF 922 $99.98
Corsair 1000 HX 1000w PS $239.99
ASROCK P67 EXTREME4 (B3) $159.99
MEM 2Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL8D-4GBXM $49.99
Intel Core i5 Processor i5-2500K 3.3GHz 6MB LGA1155 CPU $219.99
Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU Cooler $69.99
(3) COOLER MASTER Megaflow 200mm Red LED Case Fan $65.97
1 TB 7200 RPM Seagate HDD $59.99
Asus 24x Optical Drive: $19.99
I bought all of these parts from him for $600

(2) EVGA GTX 570 SC (lifetime warranty) 369.99 each
He sold me both for $350 total. Running them in sli.

I bought the rest on newegg:
8GB Gskill DDR3 59.99
Windows 7 home premium OEM 79.99 (coupon)
128 GB Crucial solid state drive 229.99
Asus 23" LED monitor 1920x1080 159.99

I'd appreciate any comments at all on my build! Thank you for your time!

To be honest, if your end goal was BF3, you definitely went overkill. You've got the future covered too I suppose, but I'm also assuming money wasn't an issue here for the most part.

p.s. your build is pretty close to the one I'm doing, I just wish I had those graphics cards ;)

Overkill? Yes. Bada$$ ? Oh hell yea! But both 570 for $350, u can't beat that.

OP save your money to buy two extra monitors to play BF3 in Nvidia surround. Ur system will be able to do it and I will envy you. Lol

Lol. I saw a video of someone playing on 3 monitors, and I think that would hurt my head and maybe even my reaction time having to look at all those monitors. Guess I won't know until I try it. I may consider it in the future!
