I have sent a few prints [more than 50 prints] off too mpix.com, but I
am interested to hear about what sites/companies others in this forum
use. I would like to do a little "comparison" shopping by sending the
same images off to several printers. Both cheap consumer and
professional quality.

Thanks in advance!

I've been very happy with dotphoto.com

Do you live in or near a larger city ?

I find that a lot of photo shops are getting in to
digital processing now. Digital photography has cut
deeply into film developing and they have to do this
if they want to survive. Most shops use the same
equipment the major online printers use.

I use a local outfit that lets me upload the images in
the morning then pick them up after lunch.

If you do live in a larger center, give the phone book
a try.. you may find a place that doesn't do nationwide
printing but does just as good a job for less.

I have tried the Costo 1 hour photo with OK results. But nothing to
compare to at the moment. I am waiting on the same prints from mpix. I
have yet to find a local place that allows me to upload and pickup.
Costco is doing this for many states, but not yet Minnesota. I know it
is in the works for Target. Still, I would like to see some of the more
professional printers like mpix work with something locally.

I will have to browse the book ...

Ofoto.com for Color, B&W, DotPhoto.com for color. DotPhoto is better
value on the color, but poor b&w reproduction.

I've had good results from WalMart Online:
http://www.walmart.com
You can pick them up at a Walmart store that you designate (free) or
have them delivered to your home (+postage).

One thing I've found is that the pricing for 4x6 printing of digital photos
in the US is fairly competitive. But most retailers and online photo
printers charge 2 or 3 times as much to print a 5x7 digital photo as a 4x6
photo. I've only found one US location so far that does the 5x7 at a
reasonable price - winkflash.com. If there are any others, let me know.

By the way, last week I just received back a few photos I sent to WinkFlash,
and the quality was great, as good as I've ever seen from my Canon dSLR.
