Heya. I don't have much experience when it comes to network switches, and I need to replace the existing rackmount switches at my workplace (a small business). Basically, I need one 48-port and one 24-port switch, preferably with 10/100/1000 ports. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance for any advice on this matter!

That would depend on your budget.
Cisco Catalyst 2948G-GE-TX 48 port - $3,628.02
Cisco Catalyst 2970 24 port - $3,058.42

HP ProCurve Switch 2848 48 port - $3,399.37
HP ProCurve Switch 2824 24 port - $1,924.00

NETGEAR PROSAFE 48PT GIG SMART-SWCH 48 port - $1,188.00
NETGEAR GS724T 24-port Gigabit Smart Switch 24 port - $539.52

All prices at CDW.
Quality goes down as the price goes down.

I would just go with a Linksys 10/100/1000 switch for roughly 400-500 dollars a piece. I wouldn't go with the high end for a small business. The Linksys is unmanaged while those Cisco switches are managed and it's something else to worry about. The Linksys (It's Cisco's lower end stuff basically) will do exactly what you need.
