How do you change a document icon?

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize (More info?)

Folders on the desktop have a "change icon..." accessable
through Properties. Documents (ie. an actual
Word document) on the desktop do not. Is there anyway to
change the icon associated with a document on the desktop?
