Hey guys,
Could you help me out? Id really appreciate it
Im coming from consoles to pc


Approximate Purchase Date: september
Budget Range: $1500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Monitor, mouse, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: doesnt matter

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: i5 2500k, Matrix gtx580

Overclocking: Would like the option to in the future if I learn

SLI or Crossfire: Yes in the future

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, 1920x1200 im not sure which would look better for gaming

Additional Comments: I would like a rig that could max games at said resolution for at least a year or two without upgrades.

the parts im not so sure about is pretty much everything else, psu, motherboard, case that fits well with the motherboard, cpu cooler, ram for a good price, ssd and hdds, a version of windows that can be reused

A few things. First off the "Matrix" is a sales ploy. You can take that Asus card I posted up above, take a few minutes and over clock it yourself and you just saved close to $40 when you throw in shipping. Second off that card is as wide as a small house, so you want to double check and make sure you can fit two of those cards on that board.

The Lighting mortonww posted is a good card also as are the EVGA cards. They all run about the same as far as performance goes. Make sure you...

Ok awesome so it looks like you both agree on the mobo
now morton that gpu do you think it will be able to max out bf3? will that mobo even be able to SLI the matrix? that i do not know

Well I figure I can upgrade the PSU in the future if I do decide to SLI,
Doesnt the matrix have better cooling? If I later SLI the regular evga whats the deal with that
also I dont know anything about overclocking, is OCing a gpu easier than a cpu because from what ive read ocing a cpu will take a lot of learning to accomplish

OCing the gpu is harder than the cpu you can get the i5 2500k up to 4.4ghz without even touching the voltage just bumping up the cpu multiplier to 44x. a gpu if you want to OC you have to mess with the voltage which can be difficult.
