I purchased 3 Viotek 450W power supplies for use in my computer shop and tested them fresh from the box with my Powmax Power Judge. I did not see the bad press about Viotek until after my purchase, of course.

I understand the lack of -5vdc, but all three PS make the Power Judge red LED (indicates over-voltage condition) light up. I have not tested with a multimeter as yet.

How possible is it that all 3 power supplies are defective from the factory? My reseller says it is "impossible". Thanks for any advice. Dave

cheap power supplies often do not live up to what is printed on their label and can be dangerous to use (i had one that literally exploded and took the cpu and mobo with it) send them back if you can and only use reputable psu brands such as corsair. your customers will thank you ;)
