I've a 1920*900 monitor. But dont know which memory version of gpu should i get to max out games like metro 2033 and crysis.
My proc- AMD Phenom X4 955, 8GB DDR3 memory.
Thanks.

^yeah, now, but what about in a years time when they release games with even larger textures to fill up that vram...... for crysis its not necessary, but metro 2033 does fill your vram at highest details. I would just get the 2gb for a few extra dollars. People told me i was crazy when i got my 640mb 8800 over the 320mb version....until a year or so later when it was necessary to have the extra ram to crank up texture detail in certain games.

I personally have a HD6970 2GB so if you afford the 2GB ram then go for it, but i think that it will be a while before the actually start using the extra juice as anything more than bragging rights.

Textures aren't stored in VRAM, they are stored in the system RAM. VRAM is only used for storing the rendered frame before it is sent to the monitor.
