Soldier needs help please!

Ok, well I would like to build a gaming PC that I will also use to make GFX (Photoshop/sony vegas). I also make youtube videos which I would like to be able to edit with the build. Basically I am looking to stay under 900 dollars but I am willing to go a little bit over if it is absolutely worth it. I literally no nothing on computers, so I am in the dark here.

Approximate Purchase Date: Mid next week

Budget Range: >900

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming and editing

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I like newegg, but i am all about the best price

Country of Origin: US, but in Hawaii

Parts Preferences: New to this so no brand preference.

Overclocking: I am not sure what this means lol

SLI or Crossfire: nor this

Monitor Resolution: Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080)

Additional Comments: Quiet would be nice but not a must. Don't care about looks just production and bang for the buck.

These are some of the newegg combos I have been looking at, which would be the best choice for me?

Those seem to have good reviews on the individual parts and such. If someone has a link to a solid build around my needs that would be awesome too.

Thank you!

Nice,... and my build is pretty similar,... ;)

^ Gaming higher priority than video editing ?? If Yes, then the i5 2500K would be a better option,... It games as good or better than any of the above CPUs, and as for video editing, nearly as good as the 1100T,...

Also if you look around for combos, you can get a build which suits you for less,...

Also could you confirm the resolution of the monitor, because for 1024x768, you can get a good build for say ~$600, but if planning to upgrade the monitor soon, then you can get a powerful build,...

Here is sample build assuming you would get a high-res monitor

I don't think Newegg pays for shipping to HI.
DO NOT buy anything needing an Intel 1156 socket, obsolescent.

  4. I was saying get the Phenom X6 deal add in a 6950 or GTX560
  5. Ok so the Phenom seems to be a good choice based off what has been said so far.

Also as far as PC protection, what are the best programs for virus/malware/spyware and things like that. I don't want to spend close to a grand and then it get destroyed by the above.
  6. Kaspersky works wonders for me so i'd suggest that and as for the GFX Card. It really depends on how much u wanna spend 6950 > GTX 560
  7. Monitor Resolution: 1024x768

If you don't get a better monitor, all the posted builds are overkill and a waste of money!
  8. Its not really a waste, I mean get a build now, monitor later. Cuz it be stupid to match a build to your monitor

That build I posted up above will allow you to o/c that cpu to 4.4 - 4.6ghz. To do that with an AMD cpu you need a cpu cooler that cost a small fortune or water cooling.
