Hello everyone. I would like to build a nice computer for about US$1800 next month, but could wait a bit longer. It will be for gaming mainly (COD MW3 & others) with a good monitor and higher, but not highest res.

Is it worth waiting for the next chipset?

Thank you for your time and I appologize for any incorrect wording.

David :)

The X68 / socket LGA2011 is an enthusiast chip and it's going to cost a small fortune. Not only that but it runs way hot and is a power hog. The socket 1155 boards have an upgrade path to the 22nm Ivy Bridge cpu's due out sometime next April/May. Now is the time to build imo.

Thank you very much Why_Me. That was the answer I was looking for. I will start another thread with the link that you gave me and start putting my computer together. This will be my first time putting a computer together.

Thank you again for your time and advice.

David :)
