More about gigabyte 5770 compatible gigabyte board
  1. No, you can use any card you want on the board, as long as you have the power supply and room for it.
  2. Shredder is right on. Features, build quality, warranty, etc is what makes the difference not the brand name.
  3. Your GA-G31M-ES2L motherboard has a PCI-e v1.0 slot. There can be compatibility issues with PCI-e v2.1 cards like AMD's Radeon HD 6xxx series.

You can only install a PCI-e v2.0 card in your PCI-e v1.0 slot. If that particular HD 5770 card has a PCI-e v2.1 interface, then I recommend you do not buy it.

I believe nVidia cards all have PCI-e v2.0 interfaces (or at least the vast majority of them do).
  4. 1)ok,so if i opt for gtx 460 or gts 450...it will be fully compatible with my mobo ?

2)what about power supply...do i need to change that also?

    currently my power supply is
    CIL odyssey 450 W(october 2008)
    model no.-- 450 PA 10091
    ky-550atx
    +12v amperage--14 A

    3)Is +12 V amperage important?

    GTX 460 450W +12v amperage: 24A
    GTS 450 400W +12v amperage: 22A

4)do i really need a cooling cabinet with more fans while using graphics card?

5)i want to buy my first graphics card which can support fifa12 and i dont want to change my current system hardware..plz suggest any good card keeping in view above specs

last but not the least ..thanx for reading :)

You'll be alright with the 460. Personally I would get a 650 watt, so it can help you out in the future and because I wouldn't feel too comfortable running a good graphics card with 450 watts. I recommend the Ultra LS600 600 watt psu.
