Intel Pentium D 925 2.4ghz issue

Hi i have an issue with my Intel Pentium D 925 3ghz CPU it shows that the core suppose to clock at 3ghz yet it clocks at 2,4ghz for some reason can someone please assist me, i have the Gefore G31 series board.

Use cpu-id to identify your cpu.
The pentiumD used speedstep technology which lowers the cpu multiplier automatically when its not being used much. You can google how to disable speedstep based on which OS you are using.
if that doesnt resolve the problem, go into the bios an insure that the cpu multiplier is set to 15.
