When using the dell laptop within a classroom environment, the internal
speakers are not lound enough for the class to hear things clearly. I
do not see a port where I can connect external speakers. Can anyone
tell me a way that I can get external speakers connected to this unit?

Use the Line output connected to powered speakers. Alternatively,
there are USB-powered speakers you can buy.
