Hey there, i'm making a computer that I will be using for gaming as well as CAD software. I'm wondering if i should go with the intel 2500 or the 2600. At this point i'll be focused more on gaming and less on CAD but in the coming years it'll probably switch to a more cad focused usage. Should i get the 2600, or save money with the 2500, and wait for the next chipset release and buy a new one in a few years?

I'll go for the 2500K if gaming is your primary focus at this time. Later on when CAD designing becomes a more intricate part of your daily use on the computer, the 2600K will be a lot cheaper and you'll be able to afford it, or the new stuff at the time, a lot easier.

tl;dr - Get the 2500K. It's perfect.

Either the 2500K or 2600K CPUs. They both overclock very well (I've heard some getting these to 5 GHz, 50% higher than the original clock, though 4.2 or even just 4 will last a long time. I would lean toward the 2500K for this reason as a 100 MHz clock difference is next to nothing.
