Bought a 24pin PSU..

Hi i have a have little bit old core2duo pc i upgrade it to play games through network with my brother i bought a Graphic card which need 6 pin connector so i upgraded PSU too i have Intel 965 chipset mobo the question i that first PSU had i think 20pins connector and new PSU have 24 pins 4 pins are separate i am using PSU with 20pins but is there any extra functions which 4 pins?what these extra pins doing while system is running with 20 pins...

Hey there - the connector is designed to be compatible with both systems. Dont worry about the extra four pins hanging off there.

I agree that it's not needed for your MOBO, the '4-pins' in question are redundant +12/+5.5/+3.3 & Ground which are needed for some newer MOBO's especially with extensive onboard Fan controller and increased power demands.
