Hi thanks for any response i get, i have a budget eventually of around 500-800 i will be building this piece by piece and just would like any recommendations on solid pieces that arent going to de-value and go out of date. Currently i have a:
Amd x4 925 2.8ghz auto overclocked to 3.1
aftermaket coolermaster heatsink
Nvidia Gtx 260
4gb ddr2 ram
biostar mobo
roswell 550 psu
nzxt case 5 fans temps never go above 40c with full load

Im sry i dont have the specs for everything but it works great except the video card is failing me im going to upgrade that as i have a new mobo with 8 gb ddr3 ram laying around i havent installed becuase i want to new gpu first. Any ideas on a mid range 150$ gpu i can but for my old cpu ? For the new one i really just want a idea of great mid - high range Gpu, processor, mobo, psu, ram, case, everything lol and if any new technology is coming out that will make stuff cheaper but still good or make stuff obsolete. Thanks a million

Please get a better brand PSU. Antec, PC P&C, XFX, Corsair, Enermax/Lepa, Silverstone/Seasonic, or newer OCZ units. You might save a bit of cash getting an X3 BE instead if the X4. Pick up a CM Hyper 212+ (~$30), you'll need DDR3 for AM3, and AM3+ too.

Pass on the GTX 460 get the 560 or 560 TI, but honestly if your going to buy piecemeal get the stuff that won't devalue first like HD, PSU if need be, RAM might be a good option and then later in the build get the chipset, MB, and GPU. And keep an eye on deals.

Thank you for all the responses! I automatically went to the 460 but i really dont like nvidia for some reason have always had trouble with their cards so i am going to go amd/ati prob the 6850 or 6950 if i can afford it. will that phenom 2 x3 unlock to 4 cores and overclock to 4.0 like the 955 black edition? was looking at the seasonic 80gold certified fully modular power supply looks sexy but its 130$ lol i already have a newasus mobo am3 and some pny ddr3 ram i bought on impulse...stupid but it will do for now so next imma get a vid card as my gtx 260 just fails hard on everything i play and i really want a ssd. the video card is my biggest issue is it worth waiting for the new ***? will the prices drop and should i just get some old tech that will play everything on ultra?
