hi guys
im looking at replacing the x1950pro(512mb) in one of my systems and ive been looking at the "xfx radeon HD5670"(512mb) .... even though the x1950pro was a good card in its day it struggles with todays games.... so would the HD5670 be a improvement from the x1950pro ?
the HD5670 has a 64gb/sec memory bandwidth compared to just 44gb/sec with the x1950pro... however theres only a 128bit memory interface compared to the x1950pro,s 256bit memory interface.... however the ddr5 memory and direct x 11 support are clear winners
would the HD5670 be a better card ?
cheers guys

The HD 5670 will be a significant increase in performance. Three things to keep in mind.

1. Only buy the PCI-e 2.0 version of the HD 5670. If your motherboard is as old as your video card, then you only have a PCI-e 1.x slot. They tend to problems with video cards that have PCI-e 2.1 interfaces.

2. There is virtually no difference in performance between the 512MB and 1GB versions (maybe up to 1 frame at most).

3. DX11 can have a significant impact on performance and the HD 5670 is considered to be a somewhat weak video card for games by today's standards.
