Reference Card Removal

Is it possible to fully remove the outside of a reference card, so that i can put on an aftermarket cooler myself?

If yes then how would i go about doing it?

Yes you can, the exact process is very slightly different from card to card but its not hard there are plenty of on line "How to" guides. if you are luck you will find the exact one for your card. Its not to hard at all.
