High performance laptop

Hello,

I want to get a new laptop this year. I am looking for a laptop with relatively high performance (not for gaming, just for running engineering programs like eclipse, matlab, etc. ) but that is also small. I have a good laptop now, but it is huge and hard to carry around to all my classes. Any suggestions for what brands / hard drive size / processor / ram would be good for this?

I have one very good laptop and it would be even more than your requirement and would work very nice but the sad news is it is costing much higher then what your budget is.I will suggest a model of Acer, the 5750 G that has some great specs-Core i5, 500GB, 4GB DDR3 and 1 GB GT 540M.
