No display after BIOS changes

I have a pc here that was damaged by a lightning strike, I can start it up fine, but after dinking with it, I got it to start up and boot. On POST, it does the standard Phoenix hardware change check asking to continue or enter setup. Either way I do it, the next time I start the pc it just runs with no beeps, no video, and no sound (N-bvs) until I reset the CMOS then the loop starts again.

any ideas? And no, it's not: IDE devices, SATA devices, CMOS Battery, RAM, CPU.

Take the CMOS battery out and see if it will allow you to enter BIOS. Then try to reboot without the battery. See if the problem is gone.
