So far we had:
Yamaha 16/10/40 (but it is not true 16x - it is 12x -to- 16x, and it doesn't deal with 10x CDRW)
Plextor's 16x write (true) should come soon (they already showed it in Comdex) PX-W1610A. Hopefully it will come right before Xmas.

But today (Dec 4) I-O Data announced 16x external SCSI CDR-W drive (16/10/40)

Sanyo is what should be called fastest true 16x CDR-W now (Sanyo CRD-BP4/1400P CDR-W) w BURN-Proof technology. (fine with 10x re-write too).

This all (I wrote above) and other information I got from http://www.cdrinfo.com

This one is for Sanyo's latest true 16x CDR-W (with good benchmarks). Check this out: Link
