Problems with P9X79 and USB 3.0

Hello, I recently build a new PC, this PC has only one problem, which is with the USB 3.0 ports. Whenever I put a usb 3.0 device to said ports, the devices start working correctly, but after some time, the system hangs (the app I'm using stops responding) and eventually the usb 3.0 device disconnects (need to either reboot pc or connect it to another port for it to work for a couple of minutes).

My question is, does anybody knows how to fix this? I have reinstalled windows various times, installed different chipset drivers (after installing widnows) and different USB 3.0 drivers (Asmedia 104x).

My current hardware is

- CPU : I7-3820
- Mobo : P9x79 Deluxe
- RAM : 8 GB (2 x 4 GB on correct mobo ports) KHX1600C9D3K3/12gX
- GPU : Radeon 7970 Visiontek + Accelero Cooling Extreme
- SSD : Chronos Mushkhin 120 GB (Sata 6 GB port)
- HDD : Western Digital Caviar Black 750 GB (Sata 6 GB port)
- PSU : Silverstone 1000W

Have tried different drivers (CD, Asus website, chipset website) and so far still have the same problem.

After searching a lot it seems that updating the firmware of the VIA and Asmedia chipsets might do the trick, the only problem is upgrading them, it seems I need MS-DOS for that and it is impossible to boot to it in UEFI.
