Mounting cpu heatsink and fan

Trying to set up old computer as a backup machine - with no internet connection.

Compaq motherboard with Intel Celeron on socket 370. Heatsink and fan are supposed to be mounted with spring clip on two plastic lugs, each side of the socket. Problem: one of the plastic lugs on the socket is broken off.

Anyone have an idea as to how to mount the heatsink/fan with missing plastic lug?

No overclocking, no gaming. Will be in mid tower, so MB will be mounted vertically.

no. You have to get a new cooler. Other things can be mounted using zip ties, but the cpu cooler needs to be very tight.

the broken lug is on the cpu socket, not the cooler.

Then new mobo. no other choice. like I said, the cooler has to be fit perfectly.

I've had Superglue work once getting the lug back on out of 20 or 30.

What MISRy says could work, but make sure the glue works properly by stressing the lug.
