I've had my eye on the new 550ti card at Tigerdirect...

I'm replacing a dying 9500 GS in an HP machine, others have suggested a 470 or a 6770 ATI. However I've had a hard time overlooking some of the 550 ti cards I've seen recently.

All else in the machine I think is still useful (quad core CPU, 8gig memory, sufficient hd space, etc). But I'm really confused by so many numbers atm.

There's a 520 which I've seen for pretty cheap, then there's 460/470 and 480 cards, and I get that the 580 is the meaner new card, but where does the 550 ti sit next to say a 460, and whats the dif betwen 460/70/80 and the 550??

I'm really trying to save as much as possible with this upgrade, and I've already decided I'll need a new PSU, and found a few nice ones in the $60 range. I'm just so confused by all the latest GPU naming.

I want to be ready for the new Old Republic MMO coming up later in the year, but otherwise I don't hardcore PC game a lot, but wouldn't mind playing Duke Nukem Forever maybe, and new stuff that catches my eye. I also just picked up a new 25 inch HP monitor, so I'm really torn on what video card to go with. I want to be as far under $200 as possible, preferably even under $150 for a card and PSU if possible.

I know that's asking alot. lol
