My max budget is $190 which will allow me to purchase the eVGA GTX 560 (NON Ti Model) @ $190.

I can't buy a 6870 since it's too long and it won't fit in my case. The GTX 560 above is 8.25 inches long while the 6870 is 9.4~9.5 inches.

My other option is the MSI R6850 Cyclone Power Edition for $170 ($150 after rebate).

An overclocked GTX 560 seems to easily beat an overclocked 6850 and comes on par with an overclocked 6870. I have plenty of fans and ventilation in my case so I plan on overclocking the GTX 560.

I game @ 1600x900 and I have dual 20 inch monitors.

Simply put, is the GTX 560 worth the extra $20-$30 over the 6850?

Thank you.

Yes it is if your playing game that uses PhysX... But at that resolution, I dont think 1GB is enough for it if it's for gaming... 1GB doesn't seem enough so either get an 1GB SLI/CrossFire or a single videocard with 2GB.. BTW I'd get the GTx 560 over the 6870

^+1 more than 1gb is only usefull with eyefinity or resolutions above 1920x1200. The 560 is a decent amount faster than the 6850, on average it is as fast as a 6870 and can be overclocked further. Im running a 6850 on 1440x900, which is a little bit lower res than your 1600x900, and it blows through any game you can throw at it with max detail and at least 4xAA. Im sure you would be happy with either card, if you want to save some cash, get the 6850, if you dont care about spending a little more, the faster 560 is the way to go.

Thank you for the feedback. I have no doubt the 6850 will blow through games, but I am thinking $20-30 more will get me a better future-proof card.

I am still debating since the MSI R6850 has 6+1 Phase Power and a pretty awesome heatsink (Cyclone Design) which is superb for overclocking. On the other hand, the eVGA GTX 560 is pretty stock hardware wise.
