Go here http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
Follow it through and download and install the first one on the page its called the Catalyst Software Suite.

Mactronix :)

so this catalyst drivers.Does one driver fit one series such that 5xxx series should have a driver compatible with other 5xxx series gpu or does each gpu have its own drivers?Such that 5850 should have its own drivers and the 5870 should have its own drivers.

No they are more generic than that, i would think the main difference's that would matter to the drivers would be the platform and OS, possibly needing different interfaces to interact with the different OS versions.
I'm pretty much making an educated guess here. I would suggest that all HD series cards would use teh same driver and other series would have differences.

you download the catalyst software suite for you operating system and your line of radeon HD graphics in this case its the HD 5xxx series. install catalyst suite and IT will take care of the rest. the program will detect your card and any extra drivers it might need (like HDMI sound, open gl, open cl drivers and stuff like) and download the specific drivers for your card that are needed. it should be sort of straight forward.
