hi, i am building a new gaming rig. What i am wondering is that can I use my old hard drive from my old pc with all my files and games etc and my 64bit windows 7 ultimate installation, for my new rig? or is that not possible, and i have to buy a new hard drive?

It might work, but using a new build I would HIGHLY recommend a fresh install of windows.

Just do a fresh install, it might save you alot of problems.

it should work however windows will recognize the new motherboard as a new computer so you will probably need the product key for windows other than that you should be fine. I just did the same with a computer.

if you did want to reinstall you could partition you hard drive is you had extra space and do a fresh install on the partition and transfer anything you need then delete the partition. I doubt you will need to though I didn't have any problems other than asking for a product key. You could always try it first and if there are problems do a fresh install but I doubt its necessary.
