Anyone know anything about the compatability of Yamaha sound cards with an Athlon800/Asus system. I have been looking at the SW1000XG and the DS2416. I am producing Multimedia work, but in the future would like to investigate music composition. Of course good compatability with general games and apps is a must. I suppose the 2416 is a little overspecced for me, but info would be appreciated anyway (get the best, and you won't regret it later).

I found my answer myself, through the UK Yamaha site. I stongly advise anyone wanting a well supported, high spec card for absolutely any sound use, to get their ass over to Yamaha.co.uk and check out the SW1000XG. The card is smoking, fully connectable to all sound devices, and even a whole range of sister cards in the next PCI. Now I just need a supplier!

I had a Yamaha card (dont know which one) and when i bought my new mobo and cpu (what you got there) it wouldnt work. So i went out and bought a SB LIVE! X-Gamer and works perfectly..
