BIOS not detecting SATA drives?

So i got all the parts for my computer, put them together, hit the power button, went into bios, it detected hardware, then when i go into storage configuration it says:

SATA3_0 : NOT DETECTED
SATA3_1 : NOT DETECTED
SATA2_2 : ASUS DRW-24B1ST aATAPI
SATA2_3 : NOT DETECTED
SATA2_4 : NOT DETECTED
SATA2_5 : NOT DETECTED



I have a Crucial m4 64gb ssd
and a WD caviar Black 1tb

both 6GB/S

i have a SATA cord hooked to each, and a power cord hooked to each
what am i doing wrong?

also i was going to put the SATA mode into AHCI but it there are two options, the MARVELL SATA 3 OPERATION and just SATA mode should i set both to AHCI

Please any help help would be appreciated.

HELP! How did you fix it? I have the very same *exact* problem you have. How did you get the bios to recognize the drives? The asus dvdrom is all that shows up in mine too. thanks.

I found out that I had to move the sata cables to different ports. I tried different ones, but not *the* ones. :-( thanks
