Looking for recommendations on a high end board that can take 3 PCI-E GTX 670 PCI-E 3.0 cards at the highest possible rate. 16x/16x/8x would be fine This setup is going to run 5 screens with unique picture on each for a sim. The screens are 65" so not small!
Going with the Z77 chipset as I need to use RST 11.2 (or 11.5 if memory leak issue is patched or next driver version to fix) for SSD RAID 0 Trim support (data and program size for sim is hitting 512GB, so using two 512 SSD's in RAID 0).
A lot of the new boards I am seeing are only doing 16x/8x/8x for 3 way. I know PCI-E 3.0 is supposed to be double the bandwidth as 2.0 (IE: 8x on 3.0 is 16x on 2.0 - or am I wrong?).
Not worried on 'bang for the buck', these needs to be super fast and rock solid stable. Going with the newest 3rd Gen i7 as CPU.
