Dear All
I am planning on building a home office PC/Server.
My use for this PC is legal research and document viewing. I would like a minimum of two monitors, with the possibility of adding four in the future. I would like the computer to be speedy, handle CLEARQAM TV signals, and act as a backup and print server. I am a sound geek and want 8-channels of DOLBY. Is 16 gb a reasonable max ram? I like games, I just havn't had a PC in awhile. Was hoping to get into it again.
I would like this device to be easily expandable in the future. My budget is 600-800 dollars.
My main concerns are the:
1) Motherboard: Is it worth purchasing a crossfire ready board in addition to the video card if I wish to expand to three monitors; Am I better off purchasing a discrete Sound Card? Will this motherboard allow me to easily "unlock" the "fourth Core" in the three core processor I want to purchase?
2) Video Card: Is this video card to much for my needs?
3) Do I have to by SATA cables?
4) Are all of these parts compatible?
I thank you for your time, and sincerely appreciate your input!
