Best CPU

HI like to purchase a new cpu but not sure what to purchase can u tell which one will be best MAD FX series of 8 core or i7 Series. i want new cpu for trans coding / encoding video and rendering work of 3d/maya. can u suggest any good cpu like i72600k or amd fx 8150 which one will best for my work.

I don't have Maya benchmarks, but unless I'm mistaken Autodesk currently produces both 3ds max and Maya right now, so I would expect similar results. The I7 consumes less power, and produces better performance in 3ds max, along with most other programs. If you plan on overclocking, the I7 starts at a lower clock speed while overclocking further, so the performance advantage would grow. I didn't look at the encoding benchmarks, but here is a good comparison of both at stock clocks

Get the 2600k. It is hands down the best cpu for enthusiast users right now who do more then gaming.

If ALL you do is gaming get a 2500k. But if you want future proofing or have a looser budget I would just get 2600k.

i7-2600K is definitely better but more expensive.
