Gigabyte z77x-d3h USB issue

I'm having an issue with the USB ports on my computer. I am using the most up-to-date BIOS (F15), I've installed both the Intel and VIA USB drivers, and I've installed all available Windows Updates.

When I plug certain devices (especially my Logitech g930 USB wireless headset dongle), the computer plays the "hardware insert" sound, followed by the "hardware remove" sound about 3 seconds later. Then, it keeps playing each sound about 3 seconds apart until I remove the USB device.

This is a new computer... sound like faulty hardware or possibly something I'm doing wrong?

  1. is the keyboard acting the same way in each usb port?
  2. I understand that you have installed the intel and via usb3 drivers, but have you installed the intel chipset software? If not, try that.
  3. I'll test the keyboard, tonight.
I have installed the intel chipset driver from Gigabyte's product page for my motherboard.

I've discovered if I just leave the computer alone for a few minutes, it will eventually get along with the headset... and work perfectly for hours. But it's still a concern for me...
