I have a xentor 32 and a a pioneer 104s slot load dvd player. THe problem is that whenever i play dvds, the previews work and i can get to the root menu but the actual movie will not play. ANy help would be greatly appreciated... I have 128 mb ram and an athalon 500.
Standard trouble shooting for any DVD issue as about as follows:
Make sure Hardware acceleration is set to full
Make sure DMA is enabled for the drive (IDE)
Resolution set to 800*600 at 75 hz.
16 bit high color
Latest drivers/software for the drive and decoder card
latest version of software decoder
Make sure the sound and video card ar properly installed with latest drivers
DON'T USE PC FRIENDLY!
And check for the latest BIOS for your M/B (yes, it can help!)
All else fails, FORMAT, Reinstall the O/S and drivers/programs for DVD.
I will agree that WinDVD has worked where PowerDVD failed to play a certain DVD. In fact, it was SNEAKERS!!! Try it.. PowerDVD and a Pioneer drive will not play SNEAKERS. It's a conspiracy. Very similar results too. Menu and such but no movie.
Athlon, Athalon, Athlawn, Athlan, Athlaun, Ahthlon, Ahthlaun, Ahthlan, Ahthlalawn, Ahthalon, Ahthalan, Ahthalaun, Echelon, etc.
Is that enough? I can keep going?
