Hello,
First off, i would like to thank the person who recommended me the newegg's 3 part video on how to build a PC

Now, I want to know how to check for compatibility between various components. like RAM and motherboard. Which one is the right one and stuff.
The graphics card and motherboard
etc etc

Also, GPU and graphics card are one and the same, right?

Thanks

Gpu and graphics are the same. Check both "cpu support" and "memory qvl" listings before you order any motherboard on the manufacturer's webpage.

A GPU is the graphics processor chip that resides on the graphics card in the case of a discrete graphics card or it can be part of the motherboard's chipset or on the CPU die in the case of an IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor).

A discrete single graphics card can even have two GPUs (e.g. GeForce GTX 590, GeForce GTX 580 x2, GeForce GTX 285 X2, GeForce GTX 295, EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2Win, Radeon HD 6990, Radeon HD 5870X2, Radeon HD 4870X2, Radeon HD 3850X2, ..., etc. ).
