Tri-Channel question - Sabertooth Z77

So I just ordered an Asus Sabertooth Z77. Right now im using the Asus P6T v2 with Tri-channel G.skill 1600 RAM. Im not really sure how I will use all 3 sticks in the Sabertooth board. Maybe I should be just using 2 of them? If anyone could help me out that would be awesome.

Use two of them. Z77 boards do not use tri/quad channel memory but they do support dual channel.

Memory modules should be installed in pairs to maintain full Dual Channel operating mode.

That means that a dual channel memory kit or quad channel memory kit will work.

Quad channel will work but work as two dual-channel modes. So yeah it's the same thing. Haha.

Yes, two 2GB sticks are probably going to work in dual channel mode. You can still put the other 2GB in, it just won't work in quad but will work individually.

2 dual channel does not equal quad. The 2 channels are split between the 4 sticks meaning it's still dual.

Just make sure that they are installed in the DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 memory sockets.

Could you point that out in the screenshot? Im such a noob when it comes to all of this. Im sure the manual would tell me. I dont have it yet and would like to get this all figured out so it will be a smooth install.

Awesome, thanks man. I also have a Corsair H50. I heard the 1156 bracket will fit in the 1155 holes. Is this true?

You can use a 3x_GB, you lose Dual Channel but more RAM is better than the bench only loss. Populate: CPU: | RAM | RAM | RAM | -- |

The only issues are the older 1.65v aren't really recommend and in particular the VCCIO Voltage requirements, don't exceed a VCCIO of 1.20v.
