Dell xps 420 cpu upgrade?

i am going to upgrade my dell xps420 cpu e8400 to ? i understand that what ever i am able to upgrade to has to have 775 pin 65w and 65nm. so far e8600 is out. will q6600 work? and are there more that will interchange ok? thanks in advance. lee
