Can my PC handle this?

Hello everyone. I had had my old computer for about 5 years. It was a 32 bit system, had 2 gigs of ram, and I put a 8600GT in it.

That PC has been outdated for some time now, so I decided it was time for a new rig.

I didn't feel safe building my own computer, so I bought a pre-built one from bestbuy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Desktop+/+AMD+Phenom%26%23153%3B+II+Quad-Core+Processor+/+8GB+Memory+/+1.5TB+Hard+Drive/2670328.p?id=1218343211001&skuId=2670328&st=HP%20Pavilion%20p7-1074&cp=1&lp=1)

I did some research, and I had heard that Phenom II wasn't bad, and this one was quadcore. It also has 8 gigs of ram, and a 1.5TB hard drive.

So after that was all said and done, I decided it was time to start upgrading some things. I decided to start with the PSU, and I chose a 500W APEX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817154026&Tpk=al-d500exp)

So that came and I installed it and everything, and now it's time for a GPU.

As much as I'd love to get a 570, it says that it requires a 550W PSU.

So I've decided on a EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 560 Ti. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-130-651&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=3#scrollFullInfo).

This one says it requires at least a 500W PSU, but I've been reading that sometimes you need more than what it requires?

So my question is this; can my PC handle this GPU?

tl;dr: will the listed psu run the gpu I want.

All feedback is GREATLY appreciated.

I've found a CoolMaster 750W for $50 bucks right now at TigerDirect. . . I will be picking that up A.S.A.P, but my questions still isn't really resolved.

If I try to run that GPU on the PSU listed above, will it work, or not?

I have no idea how to figure out all that power usage stuff that everyone talks about :/
