6950 windows 7 duplicate display issues

Hey guys, I'm new at using multiple monitors, all I want is to be able to use my 22 inch pc monitor at the same time as my 46 inch television and I'm having trouble doing that.

For whatever reason windows won't let me select duplicate display, neither will the catalyst control center. .both displays are set at 1920x1080P resolution. .so what's the deal here?

Left out some details here, my GPU is a Radeon 6950 and I'm running hdmi out to my television from the card.

In case anyone else has the same problem, try switching your DVI out to your monitor if there are 2 DVI out slots and everything works hunky dory.
