so from reviews i heard that my current mobo the asrock z77 pro3 has poor overclocking capabilities because of its weak power phase, i was curious as to what overclock i should shoot for on this board?

also i may get an asus p8z77- v deluxe for the sli capability and great power phase if this current board is cheap/weak

Asrock is cheap. I'd get an Asus P8z77 V (not PRO or LE or LE PLUS or DELUXE) which has decent phases and is actually built to last not the flimsy PCB's that scream Asrock.

You don't 16 phases, 8 is more than enough, and half of the Deluxe features you'll never use. So the standard model is sufficient.
