Hi

My current setup is as follows

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz
2gb Ram
Radeon 5670 1gb DDR5
ECS P965T-A
Win XP

Im not a huge PC gamer but untill recently I have been able top play all the multi platform games that appear on the PS3 and 360 on my PC at way higher resolutions and higher frame rates then their console counterparts(e.g, Mass Effect 2 with all settings on max except AA usually runs at 60fps most of the time in 1080P) . Recently however, my rig is starting to show its age, I can barely run Dues Ex at 720P with the settings on mid.

I was going to upgrade my ram to 3gb and my processor, on paper the E7600 is the fastest processor my mobo (1066 FSB LGA 775) can take right ?, but Ive seen a few people say that they needed to update the bios on this board as its old. According to the ECS site Ive got the latest Bios, should I go ahead and order this processor along with the ram ?.

Thanks in advance.

From your cpu speed, your existing chip would be a E6400.

Best for this board, would be ..

Quad Q6600 B3 Stepping, Q6700 G0 Stepping

or

Dual Extreme QX6700 B3 Stepping

With the best being QX6700 or Q6700.
